Cutting Through Crises
02-09-2005Society had its Annual conference on 2nd September 2005 at Lower
Crystal Room, Hotel Taj Samudra, Colombo-3 on the theme "Cutting through
Crises". The Chief Guest was Hon. Jeyaraj Fernandopulle Minister of Trade, Commerce
& Consumer Affairs and Guests of Honour were Hon. Kingley T. Wickremaratne, Governor
Southern Province, Hon. Ravi Karunanayake, Member of Parliament & Mr. Jonathan
Wheatcroft, Counsellor (Development) & Head of Aid Canadian High Commission.
The special event at the conference was to recognize outstanding business leaders by
giving them CMA Award for "Excellence in Business Management". The awards were
given to Mr. Vivendra Lintorawela, Mr. P. Devasiri Rodrigo, Mr. Hemaka Amarasuriya &
Mr. Anthony Asokumar Page.
The technical sessions was in three section where ten papers was presented on the
Impact and outlook of domestic & global crises on the economy, Risk Management &
Business Continuity Planning and Crises Management.
