Examination Syllabus

The structure of the first syllabus was originally developed with the technical assistance of CMA Canada, now CPA Canada. The current structure of the syllabus has been developed by a panel of consultants attached to the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, led by Prof. Mangala Fonseka. The members of the Institute will be required to develop themselves in such a manner that will enable them to assume duties not only as Management Accountants, but also as members of senior management teams.

Structure of The Syllabus and Medium of Instructions (English/Sinhala/Tamil)

CMA professional programme consists of Level 1 (Foundation), Level 2 (Operational), Level 3 (Managerial), Level 4 ( Strategic 1) and Level 5 ( Apex Level ).

The medium of instructions and examination for examination for foundation and operational level will be on sinhala | Tamil and English media while managerial strategic & Apex Levels will be only in English medium.

Thus the CMA Sri Lanka Professional Qualification will offer employment not only in our own country, but also provide opportunities for overseas employment.

The conduct of the lectures and examinations in English is in keeping with the language used by the business sector locally and globally. There will be three Skill Course Units to develop Communication Skill in English and two Skill Course Unit to develop computer application.

Medium of instruction and examinations for Foundation and Operational Levels will be in English, Sinhala and Tamil.
