Facilities for CMA qualifications

The following institutions grant exemptions and certain facilities / resources for CMA qualifications.  

  • Association of Chartered Certified Accountants - ACCA (UK) 

Awards maximum of 7 exemptions out of 14 exams in total for CMA 2018-2021 Syllabus
Awards maximum of 8 exemptions out of 14 exams in total for CMA 2023-2027 Syllabus

  • Chartered Institute of Management Accountants - CIMA (UK) 

Exemptions are awarded by CIMA (UK) for papers at Foundation Level and Operational Level, for CMA Old Syllabus. 

  • CPA – Australia 

Passed Finalists (with a university degree)and members who qualified taking the CMA syllabus which came into effect in 2023 to 2027 are eligible exceptions of CPA Australia. Only 3 subjects will need to complete from CPA Australia.

  • University of the West of England

Students who completed CMA Managerial level will be eligible for BA(hons) International Business Management top-up degree awarded by the university of the West of England conducted by Bristol Institute of Business Management. 

Passed Finalists will be eligible for below postgraduate programs awarded by the University of the West of England conducted by Bristol Institute of Business Management.  

  1. MSc Accounting and Finance 
  2. MBA Accounting and Finance

  • BMS Honours in Accounting & Finance offered by Open University Sri Lanka

Students who have successfully completed the Managerial Level of the CMA professional programme are eligible for 14 exemptions out of the 16 modules of the BMS Honours in Accounting and Finance degree and may directly enrol in Level 5 (Third Year) of the programme. The two non-exempted modules from Levels 3 and 4 will be offered concurrently while students complete Levels 5 and 6 of the degree.

**The exemptions will be formally activated, and the degree certificate will be awarded, only upon successful completion of the CMA qualification.


  • Northumbria University

 

Who have successfully completed the Managerial Level of the CMA Professional Program are eligible to register for the following Northumbria University degree programmes conducted by BMS Campus.


  1. Global Business Management (Top-Up) BSc (Hons)
  2.  Accounting and Finance (Top-Up) BSc (Hons)


The Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission (TVEC) 

CMA Diploma in Accounting and Business Management (DABM) certificate holders will receive the TVEC NVQ level 6 recognition.  

Certified Accounting & Business Manager (CABM) 

CMA Diploma in Accounting and Business Management certificate holders with 2 years Industry experience can apply for Certified Accounting & Business Manager( CABM) Designation
